Ellis Park Stadium (now called Coca Cola Park) has been the backdrop to some of the most iconic music and sporting moments in South African history. Who could forget that day back in 1995, when Nelson Mandela and Francois Pienaar lifted the William Webb Ellis trophy, cueing wild celebrations in every corner the country?
Our proud relationship with Ellis Park dates back to 1982, when we were tasked with the design and installation of the stadium’s first large-scale, integrated sound system. The job presented many challenges, none bigger than the fact that a project of this scale had never been completed in South Africa. Our solution thus needed to be a first its kind. The innovative installation, a distributed, bi-amped system, is still in use today.
