The request to design, supply and install an audio, lighting and video system for the 1 200 seater Lagos Good News Baptist Church came nearly two years before the completion of the project, in April 2005.
The Prosound engineering and project management team made three carefully planned trips to Nigeria during that time.
A smaller installation team also spent three weeks in Lagos prior to the opening, to complete the final stages of the installation.
The sound system was designed around the Electro-Voice SX300 loudspeaker – a popular choice for churches due to its exceptional sound quality and speech intelligibility. Coupled with a pair of Electro-Voice MTL-2 sub-bass loudspeakers, this combination offered a full-range system capable of handling all speech requirements, plus high quality audio for the full orchestra and choir.
Due to the lack of reliable power sources, a UPS system as well as a 3-phase power conditioning system was also installed in the venue.
