As the longest running television game show in South Africa, Noot vir Noot has been a part of many South Africans lives since its inception in 1991.
Prosound’s involvement with Noot vir Noot can be traced back to more than 15 years ago, when Johan van Rensburg purchased a pair of Electro-Voice S200 loudspeaker systems and Electro-Voice Entertainer powered mixer. Johan and Rina Hugo toured extensively with this system for a number of years.
Prosound has sponsored and hired equipment to the musical game show since 2005 and with no sign of the series ending any time soon, Noot vir Noot has decided to refresh their equipment inventory in preparation for their 38th season.
Prosound has provided a combination of MyMix personal monitoring systems, DPA and Electro-Voice microphones, an Electro-Voice PA system as well as MIDAS Pro2 and Pro2C Mixing Consoles. The overall response was extremely positive as the level and quality of sound for the studio audience far exceeded expectations.
Andries Pieterse, Noot vir Noot Production Manager, says “We especially wouldn’t be able to do this [Noot vir Noot] without the MIDAS desks, they are great to work with!”
Noot vir Noot is an Afrikaans language musical quiz show which is broadcast on South African television. Music on Noot vir Noot is performed live by the shows own band – Die Musiekfabriek (The Music Factory) who have loved working with the new MyMix monitoring systems. Guest artists also perform a medley of songs in each episode using equipment supplied by Prosound. Noot vir Noot contestants use the DPA headset microphones which are perfectly discrete for television.
Noot vir Noot continues to be a favourite with both English and Afrikaans audiences and has continued to be listed in the top ten favourite programmes on SABC. Prosound looks forward to many years ahead with Noot vir Noot.
“We are very excited about the new equipment and it is always a pleasure to work with Prosound”, adds Andries.
