The Amahoro Stadium (meaning ‘Peace Stadium’) in Kigali once served as a safe haven for more than 12 000 Tutsis fleeing the horrific massacres in 1994. This multi-purpose venue now serves as the national stadium for events such as soccer and athletics. It also hosts regular live music concerts.
Prosound was appointed by the international stadium lighting company, MUSCO, to provide sound systems for Amahoro.
The brief was to both design and supply a high-powered, high quality, permanent sound system to the grandstands, which seat 45 000 spectators. To complement this, Prosound was to provide a portable concert style sound system to cover the field and to link to the grandstand system for better coverage.
Thanks to our 30-year experience in stadium sound system design, we were able to bring a long-term, world-class solution to this picturesque venue in beautiful Rwanda.
